Behavioural Rehabilitation Program
For dogs that need more than training

Our Behavioural Rehabilitation Program is designed for dogs struggling with anxiety, reactivity, aggression or other complex behavioural challenges.
Rather than simply managing behaviour, we work to improve the dog's emotional stability, resilience and ability to cope with everyday life.
Every rehabilitation plan is individually tailored following a professional assessment.

Why Rehabilitation Instead of Simply Training?
Behaviour is often a symptom rather than the problem itself.
Dogs living in chronic stress, fear or high arousal cannot consistently learn new behaviours until their nervous system becomes more regulated.
Our rehabilitation program focuses on restoring emotional stability first, allowing lasting behavioural change to follow.

FAQ
What do I need to bring?
Regular food and any relevant medical or behavioural information. Everything else is provided.
Where does my dog stay during the program?
Your dog stays in Joey's House: a dedicated facility located a few metres from Shuki's home. This allows supervision throughout most of the day.
The facility includes underfloor heating, a ventilation system, and a calm, clean environment. Dogs stay in structured Trespa crates designed for the training process. Staff are present on-site between 07:00 and 20:00, and the facility is located next to Shuki's home for overnight response if needed.
Who is this program for?
For dogs where behaviour is driven by an unstable internal state: reactivity, aggression, extreme anxiety, or unpredictable behaviour. These are often dogs that other trainers have not been able to help.
How is this different from the standard Board & Train?
The Special Training Program is for dogs where the behaviour is rooted in something deeper, an internal state that has to shift before the behaviour can change. These cases require more time, more controlled exposure, and a more gradual process. The duration is not fixed: we work at the dog's pace, not a calendar.
How is the duration determined?
Based entirely on the dog's progress. Some dogs need 5 weeks. Others need 8. We don't work to a fixed timeline, we work until real stability is in place. You will be kept informed throughout.
Are there cases you don’t take?
Every case is assessed individually. If a different direction would serve the dog better - whether that's a different type of specialist or a different approach, we'll tell you honestly and help you find the right path.
Is there supervision overnight?
Yes. The facility is located directly next to Shuki's home, which allows for immediate response if needed during the night.
What happens in case of a medical emergency?
We take every dog's health seriously. In case of an emergency, we act immediately - we work with a local veterinarian and stay with the dog as long as needed. The owner is informed as soon as possible. Veterinary costs are the responsibility of the owner, as stated in our terms.
What are your reception hours?
Reception hours (by appointment only):
Morning: 07:30 – 11:30
Afternoon: 15:30 – 19:30
All visits and drop-offs are by prior coordination only.
How do I get started?
Contact us to schedule an initial assessment. Based on that conversation and our evaluation of your dog, we'll guide you to the right program. There is no one-size-fits-all answer - every dog and every situation is different.

"Shuki is fantastic! We had him train our two dogs and they both came back transformed, exceeding all our expectations. The moment you start talking with Shuki you can see he deeply loves & cares for dogs, and wants the best for them, way beyond just doing his job. He was full of tips and advice beyond just training but about all aspects of our dogs' wellbeing. And equally importantly our dogs love him."
Simon Belak (Zuko & Kenzo)

"Our Italian Greyhound puppy Buster stayed with Shuki for two weeks of training. The difference when Buster came back home was huge! In two weeks, Buster has been bench trained (to the point where he can stay home alone for a few hours), he knows all the basic commands, and more. Shuki’s philosophy is really around ‘training’ the humans as well to make sure everything ‘sticks’ and is followed up on. He believes in personal attention and his house and big garden will host up to 5 dogs. Shuki will also be our go-to place whenever we are on holidays and we want Buster to be taken care of well. Highly recommended!"
Marco De Mooij (Buster)

"That was only 10 days, but very important for our dog and us! First of all, the service is more than fantastic. Our German Shepherd had the best days ever here. Second, Shuki had the best way to communicate with our dog. Just 10 days, but the behavior of the dog was absolutely changed! Calmer, easier, more communicative. We’ve also got dozens of recommendations from Shuki we’ve never had from before even veterinary - what to do, how to feed, what is better personally for our dog. To say that we are happy with Shuki’s service is say nothing. Best and highest recommendations! There is no other options for us anymore. Thank you Shuki!"
Julia Scherpner (Bern)

"Shuki is a wonderful person and took great care of our animals for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. He welcomes your dogs into his family and pack and treats them as if they were is own and in their own home. It was so treasuring to know the great care they were receiving while we were away. We will definitely use his services again.
It was worth the short drive to get the dogs out to his family home - and into the countryside."
Tom Pugh (Joe & Jerome)

"Thoroughly recommend Shuki’s dog services. Our 11 month old lab has come home happy and relaxed after a lot of fun staying at Shuki’s. He had a nice holiday in the country while we also had a break. Loved seeing videos of him playing while we were away. The pick up/drop off option is brilliant as well. Lockie will definitely be returning and a nice relaxing break for us knowing he is so well cared for."
Melissa Muirhead (Lockie)

"Shuki is a magician with training!
I enrolled Charlie (6 month cockapoo) in his 4 Week Boarding Training.
She has just finished her last session. She is amazing now!! All the basic commands, plus some special commands that I asked Shuki to train.
I now have full control of her with just my voice - no leash required.
Charlie looooves the training. She is totally focused on me now and always waiting to hear what I want her to do. Very happy puppy and owner 🙂"
Angus Prior (Charlie)

""Really really great place to leave your doggies when away! Our Tuna had so much fun with her new doggy friends and Shuki took amazing care of her! He even took time to housetrain her! I couldn’t recommend this place more! Will leave my dogs with him whenever in need."
